By placing an order or using this site, you agree to the terms below. These terms apply to all purchases, exchanges, and use of getacoverstory.com. The site is operated by Retail Opportunity LLC.
The product
Cover Story is a hollow book with a spring clamp inside that holds a smartphone. The exterior is a paper or linen hardcover, depending on the edition. Product details, dimensions, and compatibility information are listed on each product page. We make reasonable efforts to represent the product accurately. Colors and materials may vary slightly from photography due to screen calibration and print tolerances.
Cover Story is sold by Retail Opportunity LLC. We are not affiliated with any phone manufacturer.
Orders and payment
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order for any reason, including errors in pricing or product description, suspected fraud, or inventory constraints. If we cancel an order after payment has been collected, we will issue a full refund.
Prices are listed in US dollars and are subject to change without notice. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address. Payment is processed through Shopify Payments at the time of order.
Preorders
Some editions are made available for preorder before they ship. When you preorder, payment is collected at the time of purchase. The estimated ship date is displayed on the product page and in your order confirmation.
Preorder ship dates are estimates. Production timelines can shift. If a preorder is delayed beyond the estimated window, we will write to you with an updated date. If we are unable to fulfill a preorder, we will issue a full refund.
To cancel a preorder before it ships, write to us at hello@getacoverstory.com. We’ll cancel and refund the order if it hasn’t entered fulfillment.
Shipping
We ship within the United States. International shipping is not currently available. Shipping timelines displayed at checkout are carrier estimates and are not guaranteed.
Risk of loss and title pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. Once an order has been handed to the carrier, we are not responsible for delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier. If your order arrives damaged, write to us and we will work to make it right.
Exchanges
We do not offer refunds. If you’d like to exchange your order for a different title, write to us at hello@getacoverstory.com within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unopened and in their original condition.
If your order arrives damaged or defective, write to us at the same address. We’ll make it right.
Sale items and gift cards are final sale and not eligible for exchange.
Intellectual property
All content on this site, including copy, photography, product names, titles, and design, is the property of Retail Opportunity LLC and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without written permission.
The product names and volume titles used on this site are original works. They are not in the public domain.
Disclaimer of warranties
This site and its contents are provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that product descriptions are complete or error-free.
Your use of this site and any product purchased is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Retail Opportunity LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or any product purchased here, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
Disputes
If you have a concern, write to us first at hello@getacoverstory.com. Most issues can be resolved without anything more formal than that.
If informal resolution doesn’t work, any dispute arising from these terms or a purchase from this site will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in court. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. Arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and will take place in Delaware.
This arbitration clause does not apply to claims that qualify for small claims court.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If the change is material, we will update the date below. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The current version is always at this address.
